I bought a new optics drive from ifixit and after taking it completely apart and replacing the drive it still won’t accept any disc’s. My old disc drive was failing and I had to tap the top of the ps4 while inserting cds, so I think it was the drive failing. But its still happening after the repair. I can manually insert the disc but it won’t even recognize when I’m attempting to put a disc in.

Tell me if I’m wrong, but what I’m reading is that you go to stick the disc in and the console continues to sit there like you’re not. If so, you likely have a blown fuse ON THE MOTHERBOARD. All swapping the drive would do is put presumably clean gears in place of the ones that have debris in them that strained the intake motor in the first place. Generally speaking. Here’s where you find Slim BD fuses on the motherboard. Here is where you can source replacement 0402 BD fuses.
