So my ps4 fan seized and died. When i replaced it the ps4 turns on but the new fan wont spin or power up… Does anyone knw wat might be the issue. I taken it apart and put it back together a few times and still nothing. I put the new fan ibto my friends ps4 and it powered up. Even put the ood fan back into mine and u hear it wanting to spin but cany cuz it is seized. Anyone ideas?
The first thing to verify is that the fan is the correct one and has the same connector on it. I am assuming that it does. I would say that the new fan is defective, but you indicate that it works in another unit. This would point me to your motherboard. There are “drivers” on the board that supply the voltage to the fan to make it work. If the feedback portion of those drivers or the drivers themselves are defective, it could explain the behavior you are seeing. Without taking voltage measurements at the fan connector, little else can be said. Can you try to measure the voltages at the pins of the connector and post them here. With those we may be able to provide additional guidance. Dan
