I recently cleaned out a PS4 I was given, because it was awful and would overheat. I cleaned it out and changed the power supply, it does turn on now, however after doing so the fan will never speed up when its getting hot and it causes some games to stutter. (or the only one I’ve seen was Overwatch it makes my controls delay and the sound shuts off sometimes) Maybe I didnt hook something up? I dont know where it would sense temp from I’d guess somewhere on the board though right? Anyways thanks in advance.
If it isnt changing after a factory reset of the device, i would suggest two things. First, try to replace the fan. The signal could not be making it to the fan itself. if this doesnt fix the issue, then the heat sensors are not working. Splice the 5V input of the fan, to the 12V output of the PSU. The fan will be very loud, but will also be running on max at all times instead of low, which will help with the overheating.
It is very possible your heat sensors that control the fans are damaged. I don’t know much about PS4 but that seems like the surefire solution to it.
Hi, i’ve the same problem. The ps4 slim is off and cold… i turn on it. i select cod mw, when the map or mission is still loading the fan start at full speed. Everything works good, but… when i quit the game and change the game to fifa 20 the cooler never start at full speed and the problems begins. At the same way is if i start fifa 20 first with the ps4 cold and i changing to cod mw then. The ps4 don´t change to full speed twice
Hey,recently I Diassmbled my ps4 to clean it up.I cleaned all the way to the power supply,applied new thermal paste and turn it on.So the ps4 wont even become hot.I touch and it is pretty cooler than previously but the fans will turn on full power whenever i play a game.Well they wont turn on full power all the time but most of the time they do.What this could mean?I also dont encounter any performance issues and it seems to runs way better than before
Hi I’ve also cleaned out my ps4 however it is also very quiet and doesent ramp up but 0 stutters and it doesent overheat so
