Chosen Solution
I recently disassembled my ps4 to replace the thermal paste. When I inserted my disc for my game it made the sound that it normally makes but didn’t do anything, the disc icon on the game was still blank and when I pressed on the game it still asked me to “insert game disc”. I did notice that I may have broken the ears on the disc drive ribbon because I previously didn’t know about the eject piece. If this is the reason can someone tell me how to replace the ribbon if I buy a new one? Or if I need to replace the disc drive too.
I found the solution to this problem after like 20 min! If you completely turn off your ps4 and boot into safe mode and go into update system software, you want to update the software by internet. After that all downloads it should work if your in this situation.
