I can start my system just fine but the problem first starts after a hour or two of gaming, my ps3 completly freezes(audio and video stop). Then when I restart the system I will get blue and sometimes green arfitacted screens. I have to unplug it and wait an hour or more for it to work again. I have already done a complete system restore and hdd format so I can tell my problem is not software related but I do not know the hardware problem. I had my ps3 over a year now and the warrenty is gone, so I’ll try anything to fix it. ps3 slim 120g model 2001a
Sounds like an overheaeting problem. I would open it up and clean it out, make sure that air vents are not obstructed or occluded by dust/debris. Make sure that you also clean your power supply and provide for adequate circulation. Check that the fan is working right and clean it as well. Use these guides to help you with it. Once you get it accomplished, reevaluate and let us know how it is going. Good Luck
Cause: GPU overheating. Solution: Apply new thermal paste on the GPU. Good luck! -Casper
