Chosen Solution
Now this all started when my mom dropped the console be accident. My ps3 was working fine before but now when i turn it on it works fine and i can even put in a disc and it will read it perfectly but after about 40 seconds or so the screen on the TV freezes and goes blurry. I tried tapping on the ps3 lightly and if i do this the the colors on the screen change. I have the 80gb ps 1 and 2 games capable if this is any help. Pleasee help!!
When you dropped the PS3, you may have loosened the screws that hold the heatsinks in place. This would cause the PS3 to freeze (and possibly overheat). Follow This Guide up to step 27, and remove the screws pictured. Now, reinstall the screws, tightening them evenly. Re-assemble the console, and try it out.
Update Hi, it could be for following two reasons: from vibration during dropping : 1.your ps3 laser inside bluray drive could have gone out of sync (these are not reapairable - would have to be replaced - quite easy - small cost) 2. hard drive got damaged, creating some bad sectors- causing ps3 freeze every time it wants to read something out of this bad sectors (drive replacement - best shot - very easy - moderate cost) check on other television, as well as scart vs hdmi. if the problem persist, let us know
