Hi! So, I recently wanted to boot up my PS4 again and play some games with a friend… but then the controllers wouldn’t turn on. I tried connecting them to my PC - they worked but when I connected them to the PS4 they refused to work with it.I thought it’s battery issues so I left them to charge and afterwards they wouldn’t work yet again. I opened them and saw nothing wrong… and then it hit me. The issue is the PS / Power button.I connected the controllers back to my PC, installed DS4Windows, mapped all buttons to keyboard keys and opened a key logger. Everything except some of the D-Pad buttons and the power buttons worked. Now, the buttons themselves seem completely fine. There’s no visible issues. Can it be the little transparent / green plastic thing that stays under the buttons? If it is, can I replace it?
Check the black parts on the clear rubber for the buttons are clean. Also clean the contacts on the board with an eraser then try it.
unfortunately this is an indication that the Flex Ribbon Connector is starting to wear, this is either a simple fix with some 99% ISO Alcohol and a cotton tip to clean where the Circuit board meets the Ribbon or a replacement ribbon entirly
