Motorola Z Force. Replaced battery, now proximity sensor doesn’t work. I have started in safe mode to test for software issues, and it doesn’t work that way either. Also ran the device hardware testing and proximity sensor failed. What could have happened to break my proximity sensor?
Hi @ferret13sj This is usually an issue with the adhesive used to secure your screen back in place. Sometimes the adhesive tape used can block the sensor if it is not designed for this model. The sensor is also EXTREMELY sensitive to the thickness of your adhesive tape. If it is too thick, the sensor will false trip. I recommend using a kit such as this one to resolve your issue.
