Hi, My 13” MacBook Pro has strange weird closing issue. The lid is stiff still the magnet unlocks when I tilt it or keep my hand on the back and hold it. I bought just a month back and I am pretty sure that it may not be due to the fact of getting old. Kindly help me to sort it out.
If you bought it used, most likely the previous owner did not align the hinges prior to tightening the screws. You will need to follow the steps for tightening or replacing the screen hinges to realign the hinges which will require the tool kit and some soft pressure hands (when prying off connectors). The iFixit Pro Tool Kit is a little overkill, but it comes in handy when you need that “special” tool. I recommend it.
