Chosen Solution
Hi, sorry if this is the wrong forum. I have a capture device to transfer tapes to digital, but I’m having a problem with the cables. The camcorder has a black and yellow cable, which the capture device also has. The problem is that the black cable for capture device isn’t the same as the black for the camera, seen in the photos. Is there any cable I could buy to link these together?
The black DIN plug is S-video in to the converter device. Your camcorder probably doesn’t support that. All you need is the yellow composite video cable and one of the two audio channels. The old video camcorders typically only have mono audio so the red or white will work for the audio transfer. You just have to make sure your software is recording on the appropriate channel that you connected to on your converter device. The resolution will be pretty terrible but hey it isn’t high def is it?
Yes the black cable is your video S cable & is an option for plugging your camcorder into an old VHS/VCR player into you camera & then to yr computer with aforementioned audio to digitise old VHS tapes. Some old Laptops also have a socket forVideo S cable so you can connect from yr camera to computer. Hope this helps.
