I know Windows Server 2008 is a little old, but it works for what I am using it for! I am trying to install this printer on the server and it will install the drivers and software just fine, but when I click print it says it is printing but will not do anything, there is not any response on the printer. I did the same thing on a Windows 10 computer and it all worked first shot, the only difference was I was using wireless rather than USB. I have tried using USB and Ethernet on the Server computer and both end with the same results. I have contacted HP but they will not help due to the Operating System. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, getting the IP and manually adding it to the printer in the Printers section, and also uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, updated the driver with all the same results. Any help would be much appreciated!

You can try setting it manually. Set up Web Services Before you set up Web Services, make sure your printer is connected to the Internet using either an Ethernet or wireless connection. To set up Web Services using the printer control panel 1.From the printer control panel display, touch Setup. 2.Touch Web Services Setup. 3.Touch Acceptto accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services. 4.In the Auto Updatescreen, touch Yesto allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates. NOTE:If a printer update is available, the printer will download and install the update, and then restart. You will have to repeat the instructions from step 1 to set up ePrint. NOTE:If prompted for proxy settings and if your network uses proxy settings, follow the on-screen instructions to set up a proxy server. try to make sure that you have the actual printer as the default printer. or you select the specific printer to print to. a lot of times these operating systems have a default already selected and if you do not change it it will keep trying to print to the default and not the one you just installed. I hope that this helps and you are printing away shortly
