Hi everyone! My amazon echo was plugged in during a power outage, and now that the power is back, the echo has the power light above the cable on, and when I hit the mute button on top, the red mic lights up, but the light ring, speakers, and microphone don’t work. I can connect to my device by bluetooth but no sound comes out when I play music, and it doesn’t register questions when I ask. The device say it is “online” on the app. Is it possible the power outage destroyed only these features? Also, any fixes?
There is a pinhole reset button on the echo. Try to press this with a pin or small pen when plugged in
A power outage can def damage a device. Why not send it to warranty though?
Hi Nicholas, As users Israel and noeliestj have already stated, your best bet is to try resetting the Echo, or to send it to warranty service. If you would like to repair it on your own, it sounds like your LED/Microphone board and the power/speaker driver board are malfunctioning and should be replaced. Regards, Alex
After I dropped my echo I had the same issues. I took the echo apart, all the way down to the bare parts, then put her back together again making sure the ribbon connectors were nice and tight, and she came back to life- lit right up. SO give that a shot.
After a power failure, I reset with the pin hole in the bottom first. Then I had to set up my Echo as a “new device”, and then have her discover the lights etc again. All back on line now.
Blue light ring keeps spinning, nothing else works
My echostudio becomes unresponsive and goes offline after resuming from a power outage. I then have to switch off and restart the device again and it starts working again. But this is pain. Not sure why it does this. I have a lot of power outages where I live and this makes the device unreliable if it can’t resume seamlessly after power comes back on.
