Chosen Solution
I bought this PlayStation with the issue and it was infested with roaches, cleaned it out thoroughly now I’m trying to fix this issue. It boots up and shows screen with message “connect controller with usb cable” then within a couple seconds the blue light turns red blinks a couple times while beeping and shuts down without an error message. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. I can hear the fan immediately start up really loud but have not checked if it’s spinning. Will check again and update.
If there is a red light then this is a playstation 3. Make sure all thermal pads are present for the ram chips on the board which are next to the main processor. Also thermal paste should be present there (needs to be replaced once main board is removed). Another thing is the washers + clamp must be the right orientation for mounting the mid-plate to the main board too.
