Background life to the phone: Was thrown against a wall, had the screen replacedThen months later the battery played up - replaced the batteryScreen cracked and replaced screenMonths later just on Facebook, phone crashes and screen stops working, I could feel the phone was very hot where the screen and home button connectors attach to the logic board. I could hear it vibrate with the silent button switched on and off and was responding without the screen displaying anything. I did a restart and it wouldn’t respond again - just overheating on charge I’ve tried replacing the screen and no luck. I have a feeling it’s the logic board, but no idea why it would suddenly die like it did. What is the likely cause, and if repairable, do you think I could get the photos of my baby son off the phone?? The phone just gets hot when you charge it now, where the battery is and across the top. Any help much appreciated! Cheers, Rich
It is very possible that any lose/broken pieces still inside the phone could have shorten it. If you don’t have backups it could be difficult to recover.
You might be able to by opening up the phone and making sure there isn’t any lose pieces of the phone inside shortening something out. Sometimes by removing that piece it can turn on again. If no luck you can still try to have it together enough to turn on and then plug into a computer. With it being apple if it wasn’t connected to that computer before it would require the phone to be unlocked which would be difficult if you still don’t get a display.
If its extremely important and willing to pay you could get ahold of Drive Savers and see if they can recover data from phones.
