I replaced the battery in MacBook 2017 Retina display (13”) following the guide provided by ifixit It was successful and upon boot the battery looks good but my sounds now are greyed out and I tried to reset the SMC and PRAM and that did not seem to help. I even opened up my MacBook again to ensure I did not miss any cable — doesn’t look like it. In system preferences under sound -> output there is nothing listed and if I try to hit the sound buttons on my keyboard it has an “crossed out” icon…. Help
Go back in follow the guide to disable the battery, then jump to Step 17 Retina MacBook 2017 Battery Replacement You either failed to insert the cable fully or the clamp was not set, or you damaged the cable to the board.
