Bret Howard you really need to give more information iif you are serious about getting this fixed :-) If your TV is a LCD TV one of the test that you can do is that you turn your TV on to a channel that has sound and in a darkened roon, shine a flashlifght beam at an angle against the screen. If you see a faint image then you know your TV has a backlight issue. Could be the power board (unlikely) or bad backlight array (most likely). All of those things can be fixed. Again, all of this will depend on what make and exact model your TV is.
