Chosen Solution
So I just installed a new screen from iFixit on my iPhone 5. Now sometimes when I wake the phone the backlight comes on but the LCD does not i.e. the screen stays black but I can see the backlight is on. Until now the LCD does come on after a couple lock/wake cycles but this is not ideal. Could this be a problem with the part or did I make a mistake installing the part?
believing you disconnected the battery and did not cause any damage to the connections -try another screen. also if your old screen worked but was cracked reconnect it to ensure the connections work and no damage to board
