In October 29, 2016, i was playing Metroid: Zero Mission on the GBA SP. The game crashed for no reason and the screen turned blue and black, throwing a extremely loud screech. I also lost all my save files. Should i blow it or disassemble it, or replace the shell? I dont want to lose my save files on Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3…
The GBA game cartridges are what saves your progress. Each games has a battery inside that allows it to remember your progress. It sounds like the problem is probably with your Metroid game. You GBA SP is probably okay. You could always shoot some air into the slot to make sure there is not dirt or dust, but I wouldn’t disassemble it. The other thing you could do is check the connector leads of the game cartridges and make sure there is no dirt or corrosion on them. If there is, then you would want to clean the games.
