Chosen Solution
I could hear something falling about inside my MBP. Worried it was something metal that could short something out and needed to clean the insides anyway so opened the cover and a small plastic piece fell out - see photos. Anyone know what it is and where it goes? To me it looks like a cover for a connector of some kind, so probably not essential. Thanks!
That is the cover for a new external USB device. It ships on the end and is meant to be thrown away once the cord goes into use.
