Hey guys, recently the TV screen wouldn’t show anything except the logo when I turned it on, After some online diagnosing I ordered a new Back light Inverter. The problem is that I have just replaced the Inverter but now the TV wont come off of standby. In case this was the new part that was causing it I put the old Inverter back in but still I cant seem to get it to turn on. Update: TV Information: Easy Touch Model: ETL071-42FHD Index:29021 42" LCD TV with DVB-T Detailed Version: It started out where one day I went to turn the TV on but the screen just went blank after the logo appeared. I wanted to fix it myself so I did some research including the flashlight test etc which led me to believe it was the backlight inverters. My tv requires two backlight inverters, a slave and master so i tried to order them online. Annoyingly only one of the inverters arrived so im trying to find out why they didn’t deliver the other one but until then i decide to just put that inverter in and see if it fixes it. After installing one of the new inverters I went to test it but now the TV just stays on the standby red light and doesn’t turn on at all, not even to the logo. In case this was a problem with the new part I put the old inverter back in to see if I could get it showing the logo again but unfortunately it still just goes to standby and doesn’t do anything else. Additional information: The TV is around 10 years old, I dont know if this will help but its worth mentioning and also I can’t supply any pictures just yet because my phone is playing up but as soon as I can I will upload them. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it.
Since the logo showed up when the set was turned on, the back light was working. Changing the inverter did not change the problem. I believe that the original problem was the power supply. Since you can no longer turn the set on at all suggests that the power supply has failed. Question: Is there a standby light at all? If so, then the power board is still the problem, but it is isolated to the main supply and should be fixable either by replacing components on the board or by changing the entire board. Please post the exact model number of the set and if possible, some pictures of the boards and we should be able to assist further. Dan
