My s6 overheated and everything is black except for peel remote, which works perfectly fine. the icon is usable and i can interact with it but when i exit out everything returns to black. ive tried rebooting it in safe mode with no effect. i dont feel like going to a verison store. is there a diy fix for this? it boots up fine with all the animations.
Yes, you need to reflash the firmware on that phone if you don’t need data you could try factory reset / wipe data option in the recovery mode. You will need to make sure that the firmware you flash on the phone is for the correct model of the phone e.g SM-G920F. How to flash samsung firmware here: https://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install… You may be able to backup your phone via Samsung Smart Switch on computer before resetting it or flashing firmware on it.
