Dear Forum Members, I am using mobile hotspot through Xiaomi Redme 7A for my internet activities to my laptop The laptop used is Acer Aspire E431 and Windows 10 release 1803. The phone works continuously with internet all the time, but when connected to the laptop either through Wi-Fi or USB Hotspot, the network gets disconnected in laptop within 10 minutes irrespective of the phone having good signal strength. To restore the connection in laptop, every time, I have to disable and enable the hotspot icon in phone setting. This again works for 10 minutes in laptop gets disconnected after that. Out of Curiosity, I tried with the following troubleshooting as advised in internet and followed the instructions, but nothing works. Restarted laptop,Run windows 10 network trouble shooterReinstalled Wi-Fi driver adapter.Disallow the Computer to turn off this Device to Save Power.Changed Wi-Fi AutoConfig Service Startup TypeReset TCP/IP configuration .I will be thankful if somebody from the forum, throw some light to solve on this issue.Thanks
Hi @karupusolai , Check all the WiFi Hotspot settings in your phone. Don’t know your phone but my android phone (not Redmi) has the following setting Keep WiFi Hotspot On. The options are: Always Turn off WiFi hotspot after WiFi idle for 5 minutes Turn off WiFi hotspot after WiFi idle for 10 minutes Perhaps your phone has similar settings Just a thought.
